After School Care is run through educational charity the Wandsworth
Primary Play Association. We also receive support from AZTEC.
Kids' Club Network have awarded us a Two Star Quality Assurance
and we have been featured on BBC television.
We aim to provide a safe and friendly after-school environment
for the children of working parents, and to provide them with
a healthy and nutritious tea whilst reflecting the children's
religous or cultural needs. All our staff are fully qualified
and have attended regular in-service training covering topics
such as First Aid, Health and Hygiene and Sports Development.
Currently
we have over 60 children between the ages of three and eleven
on our register, from Swaffield, St Anne's and Allfarthing schools.
After
their tea the children can choose from a range of activities;
games, construction, books, dressing-up and pretend play. For
the older children there are musical instuments, computers, table-tennis
and snooker. Once a week the older children transfer to Wandle
Recreation Centre for basketball coaching. Wandle Youth Service
also send tutors to us three evenings a week to teach percussion
and creative writing, and to help arrange creative projects with
a topical theme.
